Alberto Giacometti
Giacometti was a Swiss painter and scultper during the middle of the 20th Century. His most famous sculptures were tall human figures.
Whilst they were life-szie in height, they were extremely thin, because of this some call his work Surrealist or expressionist.

Observational Drawing
Art Academy have been asked to create some artwork for the school Music room.
As a starting point we are doing some observational drawings of different instruments. We will then transfer our work onto canvas.
Space!!
Art Academy is all about making new and original pieces of art our own.
We have made a space themed display using pastels, paint, pencil crayons, newspaper and tissue paper. We wanted to expand our knowledge of different art media.
We divided an A3 picture into 8 sections and used one medium only for each section. By the end of this project we were much more confidet using different media.
A Shoal of Fish!
These clay fish have been biscuit fired and some children have chosen to paint theirs with poster paints, using a special dry brushing technique to enhance any details.
S4K Competition
Our school has entered a special sculpture competition for children called S4K, and the Art Academy’s pottery will be photographed and sent to the judges. The children and the school could win some super prizes… Watch this space!
